The noise shot through his mind, his breathing increased, as he took in his surroundings.
It was the small screech coming from the rocks, the sound stung like fingernails running along a chalkboard.
Slowly, the sound started to fade, as he paddled through the waist-high waters, he felt a sudden sting quickly pierce throughout his body. Even through the deep, murky waters he could see his reflection.
Shock covered his face.
The pain was unbearable, but he still swam, farther and farther. The more breaths he took, the more the pain shot through his body.
"Ow!" He yelled.
Quickly, he looked down at his reflection.

And saw nothing but black.
Suddenly the pain stopped and he could breath normally again.
